Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani received Turkey’s outgoing Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Fatih Yildiz, in Erbil on Sunday.
In a meeting attended by Turkey’s Consul General in Erbil, President Nechirvan Barzani thanked Ambassador Yildiz for his contribution towards the development of friendly relations between the two countries and wished him further success in future missions.
Ambassador Yildiz expressed his gratitude for the coordination and support from the relevant institutions in Iraq during his tenure in office. The Ambassador hoped that Turkey's relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region would advance further in all areas on the basis of good neighborliness, mutual respect and interests.
Discussions also focused on the developments in the greater region, the Shingal agreement between Iraq’s Federal Government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, and other issues of mutual interest.
