Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani received Mr. Mohammed bin Suleiman Al-Asiri, the new Consul General of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Kurdistan Region, in Erbil on Wednesday.
The President congratulated Mr. Al-Asiri on assuming the office of the Consul General of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Kurdistan Region, and wished him success in his new duties. The President expressed the readiness of all relevant authorities in the Kurdistan Region to support the Consul General in his mission. The President commended the staff at the Saudi Arabia’s Consulate General in Erbil for their work and services in the Kurdistan Region and hoped for further strengthening of relations of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
For his part, the new Consul General pledged to work for further development of relations between the Kurdistan Region and Saudi Arabia and to expand the areas of partnership and cooperation between the two sides.
Discussions also focused on the latest developments in the greater region, the relations of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region with the neighboring countries, investment and job opportunities in the Kurdistan Region, and other issues of mutual interest.
