Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani received Iraq’s Interior Minister, Mr. Othman al-Ghanimi in Erbil on Thursday.
Both sides discussed the latest security developments in Iraq, the dangers of ISIS resurgence and movements along the Iraqi-Syrian border and the importance of securing these border areas, the situation of border gates as well as the conditions of the areas affected by the war against ISIS.
At the meeting, which was attended by the Kurdistan Region Interior Minister, Mr. Rebar Ahmad, both sides also highlighted the significance of continued cooperation and coordination between Iraq’s and The Region’s Interior Ministries and their relevant institutions in all fields. The President expressed his appreciation for the constructive role of Iraq’s Interior Minister and his efforts to support coordination and cooperation with the Kurdistan Region’s relevant institutions.
