During the Munich Security Conference, President Nechirvan Barzani met with Dr. Barham Salih, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
Their discussions focused on the humanitarian conditions of refugees in Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, and the broader region. President Nechirvan Barzani highlighted the situation of refugees in the Kurdistan Region and emphasized the importance of continued support from the United Nations for Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
Dr. Barham Salih praised the humanitarian and historical role of the Kurdistan Region in providing assistance to displaced persons and refugees and stressed the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees’ commitment to supporting the efforts of the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Region to improve the living conditions of refugees and meet their needs.
