Also today, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, President Nechirvan Barzani held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mr. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
Discussions focused on the relations of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region with the Islamic Republic of Iran and areas of joint cooperation, the latest developments in the Iraqi political arena, the developments in the region, and the Vienna talks between Iran and Western nations.
The President and the Foreign Minister agreed on the importance of maintaining security and stability in the wider region, and expressed hope that the political process in Iraq, through collective cooperation and mutual understanding, would take the right path and serve the interests of all communities in the country.
