President Nechirvan Barzani received a phone call from Emmanuel Macron, the President of France.
During the phone call, both sides shared their views on the current regional situation and the consequences of the ongoing war. They expressed serious concern about the risk of further escalation and agreed on the urgent need to strengthen international efforts to prevent any additional deterioration of the conflict while restoring peace and security across the region.
They also discussed France’s relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, as well as the continuation and strengthening of their existing cooperation. Both sides underlined the importance of further deepening their partnership, which builds on a long history of collaboration and coordination across a wide range of sectors.
President Nechirvan Barzani thanked President Macron and France for their leading support to the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, particularly their active diplomatic role in shielding the region from the threats of war and conflict.
