President Nechirvan Barzani received Mirosław Wachowski, the new Ambassador of the Holy See to Iraq.
During the meeting, President Nechirvan Barzani congratulated Mr. Wachowski on his new role and wished him success in his responsibilities, reaffirming the Kurdistan Region’s full support for his efforts.
Mr. Wachowski expressed his happiness at assuming his duties in Iraq and commended President Nechirvan Barzani and the Kurdistan Region for their efforts in safeguarding Christians and promoting a culture of coexistence, tolerance, and mutual respect.
He also emphasized the Holy See’s strong interest in the stability and development of the Kurdistan Region. In response, President Nechirvan Barzani reiterated that the Kurdistan Region will continue to serve as a hub for peaceful coexistence among different religions and communities.
In another part of the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the political landscape in Iraq and the region, highlighting the importance of strengthening relations between Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, and the Holy See.
