Continuing his meetings in Munich, Germany, President Nechirvan Barzani met with Mr. Mateusz Morawiecki, the Prime Minister of Poland, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference today.
The meeting covered the relations of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region with Poland, the political situation in Iraq, the fight against ISIS, Erbil-Baghdad relations and the latest developments in the wider region.
Both sides reiterated their mutual willingness to strengthen their bilateral relations, and to expand joint cooperation in several areas including commerce, trade and academic exchange. The President expressed his appreciation for Poland’s support to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region during the war against ISIS.
The war in Ukraine and its ramifications, efforts to resolve the energy crises and other topics of mutual interest were highlighted.
