President Nechirvan Barzani meets with UK National Security Adviser

President Nechirvan Barzani received Jonathan Powell, the UK National Security Adviser, along with his accompanying delegation. The meeting was also attended by Irfan Siddiq, the UK Ambassador to Iraq.

The meeting focused on the UK’s relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, particularly in the areas of security and military cooperation, joint efforts to combat terrorism, and maintaining regional stability.

The talks also addressed the internal situation in the Kurdistan Region, efforts to form a new Kurdistan Regional Government cabinet, Erbil–Baghdad relations, political and security developments in the region, and diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions. The British Consul General in Erbil also attended the meeting.
