President Nechirvan Barzani received today in Erbil Dr. Faryad Fazil Omar, the President of the Institute for Kurdish Studies in Berlin, who was granted the Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany last year.
President Nechirvan Barzani congratulated Dr. Omar on receiving the award, and commended Kurdish communities in Diaspora, valuing their hard work and services abroad. The President also appreciated Dr. Omar’s services in the academic field, Kurdish language, literature and culture, and wished him success.
For his part, Dr. Fariad Fazil Omar expressed his appreciation and delight over meeting with President Nechirvan Barzani and emphasized that academic endeavors and promoting Kurdish language and culture will continue.
