President Nechirvan Barzani received today in Erbil Mr. Muhsin Mandalawi, the First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives.
The President congratulated Mr. Mandalawi on his election as the First Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives, and wished him success in his coming duties. For his part, Mr. Mandalawi offered his appreciation and expressed delight over meeting with the President.
Discussions covered the latest political developments in Iraq and the upcoming events in the Council of Representatives. Both sides reaffirmed the importance of unity and cooperation among all political parties in order to maintain stability and to overcome obstacles within the political process; in accordance with the country's high interests, protecting the citizens, their rights and their demands.
