President Nechirvan Barzani received Dr. Ali Shamran, Iraq’s new Ambassador to Spain.
The President congratulated Dr. Shamran on his appointment and wished him every success in his new post. He underlined the importance of building closer ties between Spain and Iraq, as well as with the Kurdistan Region, in a way that serves the interests of all sides.
For his part, the Ambassador expressed his pleasure at meeting President Nechirvan Barzani and praised his role in the region. He also stressed the need for continued efforts to deepen relations between Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, and Spain.
The two sides also discussed the situation in Iraq, the latest regional developments, and opportunities for closer cooperation between Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, and Spain across a range of sectors.
