President Nechirvan Barzani received Liu Jun, the outgoing Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in the Kurdistan Region, on the occasion of the conclusion of his tenure.
During the meeting, the President expressed his gratitude for Mr. Liu’s efforts in strengthening relations between China and the Kurdistan Region across various sectors and wished him success in his future endeavors.
Mr. Liu conveyed his gratitude to the Presidency and the relevant institutions in the Kurdistan Region for their cooperation and support throughout his tenure. He also reaffirmed his country’s commitment to further enhancing bilateral relations.
Another topic of discussion was the prospects for expanding mutual cooperation. In this regard, President Nechirvan Barzani expressed his appreciation to China for establishing a Kurdish-language department at Beijing Foreign Studies University.
