President Nechirvan Barzani welcomed Axel Wech, Austria’s new Ambassador to Iraq.
At the meeting, the President congratulated the new Ambassador on taking up his post and wished him every success in his mission. He also reaffirmed the Kurdistan Region’s readiness to facilitate the Ambassador’s work and further strengthen bilateral relations through enhanced cooperation. The President also expressed the Kurdistan Region’s gratitude for its longstanding partnership with Austria and for its continued support.
Ambassador Wech said he was pleased to take up his post and reaffirmed Austria's commitment to strengthening its relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and to expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The meeting also addressed Erbil-Baghdad relations, the latest regional developments, and other matters of mutual concern.
