President Nechirvan Barzani received Stephan Wendt, the newly appointed Head of the European Union Liaison Office in Erbil.
During the meeting, the President congratulated Mr. Wendt on his new role, reaffirmed his full support, and wished him every success in his responsibilities. President Nechirvan Barzani further expressed his gratitude for the European Union’s continued support and cooperation with the Kurdistan Region across various fields.
Mr. Wendt expressed his pleasure at commencing his duties in the Kurdistan Region. He underscored the great importance the European Union places on its relations with the Kurdistan Region, as well as on its peace and stability. He also conveyed the European Union’s readiness to further strengthen relations and expand cooperation.
