A Statement from the President of the Kurdistan Region on the Conclusion of the Parliamentary Elections

My fellow Kurdistanis,
Esteemed Political Parties and Communities in Kurdistan,
I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the people of Kurdistan and all our communities on their success in the parliamentary elections. These elections and the voting procedures represent significant advancements in securing the democratic journey of the people of Kurdistan. The collaborative efforts of all political parties to ensure the effective and seamless execution of this process are commendable and worthy of recognition. Ultimately, the true beneficiaries of this achievement are the people of Kurdistan.
The elections aimed to reaffirm the legitimacy of institutions within the Kurdistan Region and to enable citizens to express their opinions and cast their votes freely in selecting their parliamentary representatives. The atmosphere of peaceful competition, along with the extensive involvement of the people in both the electoral campaign and the voting process, reflects the commitment of the people of Kurdistan to democratic values and their right to determine their future. This engagement is a testament to their vibrancy and the development of their democratic culture.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the people of Kurdistan, the security forces, the Independent High Electoral Commission, the Iraqi government, and all parties involved for their significant contributions to this process. The peaceful and orderly elections signify a notable achievement recognized globally. However, the true fulfillment of this success, which the people of Kurdistan eagerly anticipate, lies in the prompt formation of a government by the political parties, following the ratification of the results.
A government that promotes stability, strengthens the economy, and advances rights are crucial for addressing current challenges and building our shared future. This effort requires unity, solidarity, and cooperation among all political factions and communities.
