Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani met with Mr. Faiq Zaidan, President of the Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council, and a number of judges and heads of courts in Baghdad on Saturday.
During the meeting, President Nechirvan Barzani congratulated the Supreme Judicial Council, especially Mr. Zaidan, for their efforts and positive role in resolving the issue of amending and reshaping the Federal Court Law, which is scheduled to assume its duties in the near future.
The two sides agreed that the tasks of the Federal Court are challenging and of utmost importance, and that its actions and decisions must be decisive for the cases, and reflect a solid judicial system that enhances the confidence and conviction of all components of Iraq.
The two sides also stressed the importance and necessity of cooperation and coordination between the federal judicial institutions and the judicial institutions of the Kurdistan Region, and highlighted a number of other issues related to the judicial authority and judicial institutions.
