Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani received the Consul General of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Choi Kwang-Jin in Erbil on Thursday.
The two sides discussed the COVID-19 pandemic in the Kurdistan Region and its wide-ranging implications, particularly on the economy, the ongoing containment efforts and the Republic of Korea’s successful experience in fighting the pandemic. Discussions also covered Erbil-Baghdad pending issues, the ongoing talks aimed at resolving the disagreements and bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Republic of Korea.
Both sides also stressed the importance of further strengthening ties between the Kurdistan Region and the Republic of Korea in all fields, especially the Region’s willingness to welcome Korean investment companies to work in the Kurdistan Region.
Consul General Kwang-Jin commended the Kurdistan Region’s willingness and efforts to solve the disagreements with the federal government in Baghdad.
