Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani received Spain’s Ambassador to Iraq, Juan José Escobar and his accompanying trade delegation in Erbil on Monday.
In the meeting, both sides discussed bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and Spain, especially in trade and economic sectors. President Nechirvan Barzani stated that the Kurdistan Region welcomes Spain’s companies and businesses to work in the Kurdistan Region’s diverse sectors and participate in building and developing the infrastructure of the Region.
Discussions also covered the political process in Iraq, the relations between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government, and the current talks to resolve the pending issues between the two sides.
The COVID-19 pandemic, the threats of terror resurgence, and other issues of mutual interest were also discussed at the meeting.
