In the meeting, President of Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani and the Speaker of the Council of Representatives of Iraq Mohamed al-Halbousi discussed the commitments of both the Iraqi Federal Government and the Kurdistan Region on the issues of finance, oil and the federal budget law of 2019. They emphasized on the importance of resolving all outstanding issues with a brotherly spirit.
In the meeting that was held in Baghdad, both sides shed light on the oil and gas law, the law of provincial council elections and the law of Federal Supreme Court of Iraq.
The President of Kurdistan Region stated the intention of the Kurdistan Region for further strengthening the relations with the Federal Iraqi Government, resolving the issues in accordance to the Iraqi constitution. He expressed the readiness of the Kurdistan Region to receive a parliamentary delegation in order to closely look into the case of Kurdistan Region’s oil.
