As part of his visit to Baghdad, President Nechirvan Barzani met with Irfan Siddiq, British Ambassador to Iraq.
Their discussions focused on the political landscape of the country, the necessary steps to form the new federal government, and President Nechirvan Barzani’s visit and meetings with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad. They also addressed the internal situation in the Kurdistan Region and broader regional developments.
Both sides acknowledged the significance of collaboration and coordination among Iraqi parties to ensure the success of the political process and to form a federal government that meets the expectations of its citizens, capable of addressing challenges and safeguarding the country’s sovereignty.
The British Ambassador emphasized that his country places significant value on its relationship with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, reaffirming its commitment to providing ongoing support. In response, President Nechirvan Barzani expressed gratitude to the United Kingdom for its assistance to both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
Another topic of discussion was the repercussions of conflict in the region and other matters of mutual interest.
