President Nechirvan Barzani was among the distinguished guests, including heads of state, royalty, and world leaders, who participated in the opening ceremony of the World Climate Action Summit at the UN climate conference (COP28) in Dubai today.
As part of the summit, President Barzani and other world leaders attended the Zayed Sustainability Prize awards ceremony, the UAE's pioneering global award that recognizes and rewards small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), nonprofit organizations (NPOs), and global high schools with sustainable solutions.
This year's winners are climate activists who have demonstrated that new solutions can be found to address the challenges and consequences of population growth without harming the environment.
