Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani offered his sincere congratulations to the Co-leaders of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) on the occasion of the 46th anniversary of the founding of the party. The President also extended his congratulations to the PUK’s Supreme Political Council, the Political Bureau, the Leadership Council and all members and supporters of the party, and wished them success.
The President reaffirmed that the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan has contributed immensely to the liberation movement in the Kurdistan Region as a main political force, and that the PUK continues to have a strong and major position in the political process and governance in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
The President highly appreciated the role, the mission and responsibility of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and all parties and communities in Kurdistan in preserving the rights of the people of the Kurdistan Region through unity and partnership.
The President also paid tribute to the memory of the late President Mam Jalal.
On their part, the Co-leaders of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan expressed their and the PUK’s gratitude for the President’s phone call and reaffirmed the importance of unity and cooperation to preserve the rights and achievements of the people of the Kurdistan Region.
