President Nechirvan Barzani met with Guido Crosetto, Minister of Defense of Italy, in Munich as part of his engagements at the Munich Security Conference.
Their discussion focused on strengthening Italy’s relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, as well as enhancing security and military cooperation. President Nechirvan Barzani expressed appreciation for Italy’s support and its active role in the international coalition training the Peshmerga forces.
In response, the Italian defense minister reaffirmed his country’s commitment to supporting Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, commending the Peshmerga’s efforts in combating terrorism.
The meeting also addressed the latest security developments in the region and the ongoing threat posed by terrorism.
