President Nechirvan Barzani held a meeting with Mr. Aydin Maruf, the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Minister of the Region for Minority Affairs, to address the ethnic and religious communities’ current situation and their rights in the Kurdistan Region.
Mr. Maruf gave an overview of the participation of ethnic and religious communities in the country’s politics and administration.
President Nechirvan Barzani emphasized the importance of protecting the rights of communities and promoting the culture of peaceful coexistence, mutual acceptance, and tolerance. He also reiterated that the Kurdistan Region is the peaceful homeland of all religious and ethnic communities, preserving a diverse mosaic of religions and nations.
