During the Munich Security Conference, President Nechirvan Barzani met with Mr. Alexander Dobrindt, Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the Christian Social Union (CSU) in the German Bundestag.
The discussions focused on Germany’s relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, as well as Iraq and the region’s political and security developments.
President Nechirvan Barzani emphasized the importance of Germany’s continued support for Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, particularly in training Peshmerga forces and strengthening security infrastructure. He reiterated the Kurdistan Region’s desire to expand cooperation with Germany across all sectors.
Mr. Alexander Dobrindt reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to supporting stability in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. He also praised the Kurdistan Region for its role in protecting communities, maintaining security, and promoting stability in the region.
