President Nechirvan Barzani welcomed a delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran, headed by Mr. Reza Rahmani, the Governor of West Azerbaijan province.
During the meeting, Governor Rahmani conveyed the greetings of Mr. Massoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, to President Nechirvan Barzani and reiterated his country’s intention to strengthen relations with the Kurdistan Region.
Governor Rahmani also praised the relationship and cooperation between West Azerbaijan province and Erbil Governorate, as well as the agreements aimed at boosting trade, facilitating border crossings, and supporting the movement of religious pilgrims to southern Iraq through the Kurdistan Region.
President Nechirvan Barzani extended his warm greetings and respect to President Pezeshkian, emphasizing the great importance the Kurdistan Region places on its historical ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran, with the aim of further enhancing relations and cooperation in all fields.
The meeting, which was also attended by the Governor of Erbil, included discussions on various ideas and proposals to improve trade flow and traffic at the border crossings.
