President Nechirvan Barzani made the following remarks to the media, following his meeting with the President of Iraq Dr. Abdullatif Jamal Rashid in Baghdad on Sunday:

As I mentioned yesterday, we engaged in fruitful meetings with the Coordination Framework, the Prime Minister, and the State Administration Coalition. Our focus was on addressing the concerns of the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad, as well as the current situation in Baghdad and the Prime Minister's forthcoming visit to the United States.

Regarding the elections, it is my duty as the President of the Kurdistan Region to determine the date and we have set the date. We are optimistic and hopeful that all political parties will reach a common understanding and agree that holding elections is crucial.

In regards to the inquiry regarding the distribution of salaries to the employees of the Kurdistan Region, particularly the security forces, President Nechirvan Barzani said the following:

The current situation in both Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region demonstrates that the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region and the Prime Minister in Baghdad are maintaining constant communication to address the issue of salaries in a comprehensive manner, so that salaries do not become a news item. Undoubtedly, it is a basic, natural right of the citizens of the Kurdistan Region to receive their salaries. I would like to extend my gratitude to the people of the Kurdistan Region for their patience and resilience during these challenging times. It is imperative that Baghdad fulfills its responsibility of providing salaries to the Kurdistan Region, as the Kurdistan Region’ salaried employees are an integral part of the salaried employees of Iraq.

In response to a question about the anticipated visit of the Turkish President to Iraq and whether he will also visit the Kurdistan Region, the President stated:

This was a topic that we discussed in the meetings. Currently, the protocol does not include a meeting in Erbil, but rather mentions the visit and meeting scheduled in Baghdad.

Replying to the final question, the President affirmed that the Kurdistan Region will be represented in the Iraqi Government delegation during the visit to Washington
