President Nechirvan Barzani received Mr. Irfan Siddiq, the British Ambassador to Iraq.
The meeting focused on the United Kingdom’s relationship with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, including the ongoing Erbil-Baghdad discussions aimed at resolving outstanding issues. They also discussed the situation in the Kurdistan Region and the efforts to form the new cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government. Furthermore, they exchanged views on the latest developments in the Middle East.
Both sides emphasized the importance of addressing the issues between Erbil and Baghdad. They agreed to continue dialogue to accelerate the formation of the new cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
Concerning the recent developments in the Middle East, it was emphasized that a peaceful resolution to the issues at hand, along with the use of dialogue and diplomatic approaches, serves the interests of all involved parties as well as the broader region, thereby fostering peace and stability.
The meeting also addressed the relationships between Iraq and the Kurdistan Region with neighboring countries and the wider region, as well as other matters of mutual interest.
