President Nechirvan Barzani was welcomed in Tehran by Mr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The two leaders centered their discussion on strengthening ties between Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, and Iran, with particular emphasis on expanding trade, deepening economic cooperation, and building on the shared historical and cultural bonds that connect the two sides.
They also reviewed developments in the wider region, agreeing on the importance of preserving security and stability and reaffirming their support for dialogue and peaceful means of resolving disputes.
Both sides voiced hope that an end to the war and continued dialogue between Iran and the United States would help secure lasting peace and stability across the region, opening the door to closer relations and cooperation among its countries and peoples.
The two presidents also touched on additional issues of shared interest.
