President Nechirvan Barzani welcomed Major General Kevin Leahy, the Commander of the Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve, today in Erbil.
The meeting, attended by the US Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, focused on recent developments in the security situation in Iraq and Syria, as well as the ongoing threat posed by the terrorist organization ISIS to regional security and stability.
Both parties highlighted the significance of maintaining collaborative efforts between the Kurdistan Region and the international coalition, alongside cooperation with the Iraqi Federal Government, in combating terrorism and enhancing the capabilities of the security forces.
They also discussed the reform efforts within the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs and the broader cooperation between the institutions of the Kurdistan Region and the Coalition Forces.
The meeting further addressed the recent advancements in the region and emphasized the significance of enduring partnerships to strengthen security and stability.
