President Nechirvan Barzani met with Mr. Luigi Di Maio, the European Union’s Special Representative for the Gulf Region today at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening relations between the Kurdistan Region and the European Union, and enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors. They also discussed regional and international developments and their impact on Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, and the Gulf region.
Both parties agreed on the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the region through dialogue, mutual understanding, and the peaceful resolution of conflicts and tensions, in order to prevent further instability. They also discussed the EU’s readiness and role in supporting these efforts.
