President Nechirvan Barzani received the Russian Ambassador to Iraq, Elbrus Kutrashev, on Tuesday. During the meeting, they discussed the upcoming parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan Region and the dynamics of Russian relations with both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, as well as the relationship between Erbil and Baghdad.
Both sides emphasized the significance of the upcoming elections in the Kurdistan Region and wished for a peaceful and successful campaign. They also shared their insights and expectations regarding the election outcomes and the broader political landscape in the Kurdistan Region.
Additionally, the meeting addressed recent developments in the Ukraine conflict, the situation in the Middle East, and its implications. The Russian Consul General in the Kurdistan Region was also present.
