President Nechirvan Barzani received today in Erbil Mr. Mark Bryson Richardson, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Iraq. The two sides exchanged views on the latest developments in Erbil-Baghdad talks, the situation in the Kurdistan Region, the upcoming elections and the status of Sinjar.
Both sides commended the progress and understanding between Erbil and Baghdad to resolve their pending issues, and stressed the importance of resolving the internal political differences in the Kurdistan Region, and also the importance of holding elections on time.
Regarding the situation in Sinjar, the two sides stressed the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the wider region, preventing hate speech and implementing the agreement between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Federal Iraqi Government on the status of Sinjar.
