President Nechirvan Barzani received a delegation from the Canada–Kurdistan Friendship Group of the Parliament of Canada, which included Ahmad Hussen, Chair of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development, and Ziad Aboultaif, Member of Parliament.
The meeting, which was also attended by several members of the Kurdistan Diaspora Confederation in Canada, focused on enhancing relations between the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and Canada, highlighting the significant role of the Kurdish diaspora in strengthening ties between the Kurdistan Region and Canada.
The visiting delegation expressed their admiration for the peaceful coexistence among the communities of the Kurdistan Region and underscored the importance of maintaining stability, while reaffirming Canada’s commitment to supporting the people of Kurdistan.
Another part of their discussion focused on the latest political and security developments in the region.
