President Nechirvan Barzani received a phone call from Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Türkiye.
During the call, President Erdoğan conveyed his condolences to President Nechirvan Barzani and the families of the brave Peshmerga who were martyred or injured in the recent attacks on the Kurdistan Region. He also strongly condemned the drone strike on President Nechirvan Barzani’s residence in Duhok.
President Erdoğan reaffirmed that Türkiye places significant value on peace and stability in both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and will support security and stability in the region.
In response, President Nechirvan Barzani expressed his gratitude to President Erdoğan for reaching out and for Türkiye’s friendly stance toward the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, emphasizing that the Kurdistan Region will always be an upholder of peace and will not be part of war and conflicts.
Another topic of discussion was the latest developments in the war and its repercussions in the region and globally. Both sides underscored the necessity of diplomatic initiatives to halt the conflict and achieve a peaceful resolution to the disputes.
