Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani received Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim al-Dhaheri, the Consul General of the United Arab Emirates in Erbil on Monday.
At the meeting, the Consul General conveyed the greetings of the President, Prime Minister and Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to President Nechirvan Barzani, and delivered an invitation from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to the President to visit the UAE. In the invitation letter, the Crown Prince reaffirmed the UAE's desire to strengthen relations with the Kurdistan Region in all areas.
For his part, President Nechirvan Barzani extended his greetings to the President, the Prime Minister and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, expressing his gratitude and delight for the invitation and stating that the visit will take place at a time convenient for both sides. The President valued the relations and bonds of friendship of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region with the leadership, government and people of the Emirates.
The meeting also focused on the latest developments in Iraq, the upcoming Iraqi elections, the relations of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region with the UAE and the importance of developing economic and commercial relations.
