Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani received Mr. Stavros Kyrimis, the incoming Consul General of Greece in Erbil, on Sunday.
The President congratulated Mr. Kyrimis on assuming office, wished him success in his new duties in the Kurdistan Region and expressed his full support for the new Consul General in his mission.
The Consul General highlighted that the Prime Minister of Greece and other officials attach great importance to the development of bilateral relations with the Kurdistan Region, and that the people and government of Greece value the progress in the Region.
Discussions also focused on further development of relations, especially in the fields of education and trade, and discussed the situation in Iraq in general, the Erbil-Baghdad relations, the dangers of terrorism, the resurgence of ISIS and a host of other issues of mutual interest.
