President Nechirvan Barzani met with Mr. Erman Topçu, the Consul General of Türkiye in the Kurdistan Region.
The two parties discussed recent developments in the Middle East, as well as the flow of traffic between the Kurdistan Region and Türkiye following the closure of airports in both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
President Nechirvan Barzani expressed his gratitude to the Turkish authorities for their assistance in facilitating the return of tourists and citizens of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq at the border crossings. He also commended the efforts of the Turkish Consul General and his team in this regard.
The Turkish Consul General, for his part, conveyed the willingness of the authorities in Türkiye to provide all necessary support for tourists, citizens, and visitors from the Kurdistan Region at the border crossings. He also commended the relevant agencies and authorities in the Kurdistan Region for their thorough preparations at the border points under the current circumstances.
