President Nechirvan Barzani received Klemens Semtner, the European Union Ambassador to Iraq.
During the meeting, which was also attended by Stephan Wendt, the new Head of the European Union Office in Erbil, the President conveyed the Kurdistan Region’s gratitude for the European Union’s continued support and role in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. He also congratulated Mr. Wendt on his new role and wished him success in his responsibilities.
Ambassador Semtner reiterated the European Union’s commitment to supporting and cooperating with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, emphasizing its dedication to strengthening relations and continuing to provide assistance across various sectors.
The discussion also focused on the internal situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, along with the latest regional developments.
