President Nechirvan Barzani received Mr. Salahuddin Mohammed Bahauddin, Secretary General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union (KIU). Their discussions focused on the overall situation in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, as well as the most recent developments in the region.
The two sides agreed that the gravity of the situation and the potential for regional escalation make it imperative for the Kurdistan Region’s political factions to stand united — working together to meet mounting challenges, protect the region’s federal standing, and uphold the best interests of the people of Kurdistan.
President Nechirvan Barzani reiterated his firm commitment to strengthening ties between the parties and maintaining unity, enabling the Kurdistan Region to navigate this critical period with peace and stability.
The meeting also addressed the relationship between Erbil and Baghdad, highlighting the importance of resolving issues in accordance with the constitution. Mr. Salahuddin Mohammed Bahauddin commended President Nechirvan Barzani for his ongoing efforts to uphold political stability in the Kurdistan Region and acknowledged his contributions in this regard.
