President Nechirvan Barzani welcomed the newly appointed British Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Irfan Siddiq, extending his best wishes for a successful tenure and affirming the full support of all institutions in the Kurdistan Region.
The President commended the strong relationship between the UK and both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, emphasizing the importance of enhancing cooperation across various sectors.
Ambassador Siddiq, in turn, expressed his delight at visiting Erbil and reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to strengthening comprehensive cooperation with the Kurdistan Region, based on mutual interests. He also recognized the Region’s vital role in promoting stability and coexistence within Iraq and the wider region.
The meeting also included discussions on recent developments in the region.
