President Nechirvan Barzani received Mr. Patrick Durel, the French Ambassador to Iraq.
Their discussions focused on enhancing relations between France, Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, areas of mutual cooperation, and the overall situation in both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. They also shared insights regarding Erbil-Baghdad relations and ongoing discussions to resolve outstanding issues.
Both sides emphasized the significance of advancing the political process, ensuring the successful conduct of the Iraqi parliamentary elections, and upholding peace and stability throughout the country. They also addressed the need for strengthened collaboration among political forces, parties, and all the Iraqi communities.
The meeting, which also included Mr. Yann Braem, the French Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, addressed the peace process in Türkiye and its recent developments, the situation in Syria, and the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
