President Nechirvan Barzani receives the Ambassador of France

President Nechirvan Barzani received Mr. Patrick Durel, the French Ambassador to Iraq, along with an accompanying delegation.

In the meeting, they discussed the results of the parliamentary elections, the next phase of the political process in Iraq, the developments in the Kurdistan Region, and France’s relations with both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

Both sides regarded the recent elections as a positive step forward and emphasized the importance of cooperation among political parties to form the federal government in Iraq in a way that meets expectations of citizens.

The meeting also focused on the need to resolve Erbil–Baghdad issues based on the constitution.
