President Nechirvan Barzani welcomed Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, Mr. Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, who was accompanied by the Second Deputy Speaker and several other members of the Council.
The discussions focused on the overall situation in Iraq, the political landscape, the upcoming parliamentary elections, the work and initiatives of the parliament, the relationship between Erbil and Baghdad, and regional developments.
Both sides emphasized the necessity of addressing issues in Iraq, particularly between Erbil and Baghdad, on the basis of the constitution and agreements that promote peace and stability in the country.
President Nechirvan Barzani expressed gratitude to all those involved in working to resolve these issues and reaffirmed his support for continued understanding and cooperation between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government, particularly regarding the financial entitlements and salaries of the Kurdistan Region.
The two sides also underlined the significance of holding the upcoming parliamentary elections and discussed the ongoing preparations. They stressed that progressing the democratic process is crucial for maintaining peace and stability within the country.
The meeting also covered the significance of cooperation and joint efforts among political parties and entities within the country.
