President Nechirvan Barzani received Niccolò Fontana, the Italian Ambassador to Iraq.
Their discussions focused on the political landscape in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, as well as Italy’s relations with both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. They also discussed President Nechirvan Barzani’s recent visit to Italy and his meetings in Rome.
The President expressed his gratitude to Italy for its ongoing support for Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, emphasizing the Kurdistan Region’s willingness to enhance relations and cooperation with Italy.
In response, the Italian Ambassador highlighted the significance of his country’s relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, reaffirming Italy’s dedication to fostering peace and stability in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
The meeting, which was also attended by Mr. Tommaso Sansone, Consul General of Italy in the Kurdistan Region, discussed the latest regional developments and other matters of mutual interest.
