President Nechirvan Barzani received former Iraqi prime minister, Mr. Haidar Al-Abadi, the leader of the Victory Alliance in Erbil today.
The meeting discussed the political developments in Iraq, the Iraqi Federal Government’s agenda, the ongoing talks between Erbil and Baghdad to resolve their pending differences, and the challenges facing the country.
Both sides agreed on the importance of creating a favorable environment to continue the dialogue between Erbil and Baghdad and the visits of the delegations of both sides to resolve the issues between them on the basis of the Constitution. They also stressed the need for cooperation and joint work among Iraqi forces to maintain peace and stability and to provide services to citizens.
Discussions also covered Iraq’s relations with the neighboring countries and the latest developments in the wider region.
