Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani signed a decree on Monday appointing Mr. Abdulrahman Sidiq as the Head of the Environment Conservation and Improvement Board in the Kurdistan Region.
In a meeting following the ceremony, the President congratulated Mr. Sidiq on his new mission, praised his environmental activism and his past expertise and efforts in protecting the environment. The President also highlighted Mr. Sidiq’s past environmental conservation record in the early 1990s in the Kurdistan Region and later in Baghdad when Mr. Sidiq was serving as Iraq’s Environment Minister in 2003.
The President also expressed hope that all citizens in Kurdistan live up to their responsibilities towards the environment and its preservation.
