President Nechirvan Barzani met with the Minister of State for Culture and the Media (BKM), Ms. Claudia Roth today on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference in Germany. The importance of culture was highlighted as a communication bridge at their meeting which also included discussions on German cultural activities in the Kurdistan Region and development of bilateral relations.
Ms. Roth gave a brief overview of the German government’s cultural plans, and expressed her country’s readiness to support different cultural works in the Kurdistan Region, also referring to a French-German joint project in Erbil Citadel.
President Nechirvan Barzani expressed his appreciation to German government for its support and thanked Ms. Roth, who is a friend of the people of Kurdistan, and also highlighted the latest developments in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
