President Nechirvan Barzani received Ambassador Emmanuel Mignot, the newly appointed Consul General of France in the Kurdistan Region.
The President congratulated the new Consul General on assuming his role and wished him success in his responsibilities. He reaffirmed the full readiness of the Kurdistan Region’s institutions to support and facilitate his work. The President also reiterated the Kurdistan Region’s gratitude for the enduring friendly relations with France and its continued support for the people of Kurdistan.
For his part, Ambassador Mignot expressed his happiness at starting his mission in the Kurdistan Region and reaffirmed France’s commitment to further strengthening its longstanding relations with the Kurdistan Region and expanding bilateral cooperation across various fields.
Another part of their discussion focused on Erbil-Baghdad relations, as well as the overall situation in Iraq and the region.
